Alfredo Oliva, Founder and President
Cuban-American violinist Alfredo Oliva was born in New York City and grew up in Hialeah, Florida. He studied with the famed New York violinist Raoul Poliakin as a young child. Some of his first gigs at age 17 included working with Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Peter Allen and Bing Crosby. A graduate of The University of Miami School of Music with a degree in Music Engineering, Alfredo Oliva has been the Concertmaster of all the Broadway shows that come to Florida since he was a young man. Additionally, Mr. Oliva has been on tour and played in the pit of Broadway of shows such as Fiddler on the Roof, Chicago, The Phantom of the Opera, The Lion King, The Secret Garden, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Evita, The Producers, and many more. Alfredo Oliva has played in just about every major classical ensemble in South Florida, including the Palm Beach Opera Orchestra, the Florida Philharmonic Orchestra, the Naples Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Miami City Ballet.
A highly trained classical violinist and concertmaster, Alfredo Oliva is the violin soloist on hundreds of major recordings, many of which have included multiple Grammy winning albums. Mr. Oliva also tours as the featured solo violinist with “Gypsy King” style guitarist Alex Fox and has played concerts throughout the Middle East, Europe, and Latin America. They are currently working on their new CD.
A Committee Member of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (NARAS) for over 10 years, Alfredo Oliva also has been serving as a member of the National Classical Nomination Committee for the Grammys for the last 5 years. He is a "Grammys in the Schools" volunteer and participant. In 2001, he collaborated with Emilio Estefan on "El Ultimo Adios", a memorial song for victims of 9/11.
