8/17/06: MTV Unpluggged: Ricky Martin

The Miami Symphonic Services string quartet (Alfredo Oliva & Scott Flavin, violins, Scott O'Donnell, viola, and Christopher Glansdorp, cello) perform four songs with the Puerto Rican megastar. Recorded in concert at the Bank United Center in Miami, look for the CD/DVD and broadcast to be released in early November, 2006.
 

6/13/06: Busta Rhymes

Busta Rhymes' new album The Big Bang is out. The track "Been Through The Storm", with guest artist Stevie Wonder, features the Miami Symphonic Strings in an arrangement by Jose Antonio Molina.
 

10/15/05: Scott Stapp (from the band Creed)

A quintet of strings with arranger Doug Emery record on the single "Broken" for Creed's lead singer Scott Stapp's solo album The Great Divide.
 

10/1/05: Luciano Pavarotti: The Farewell Tour

Miami Symphonic Services (in collaboration with contractor Peter Graves) assembled the full orchestra for the South Florida performance of the famed tenor's tour at the Bank Atlantic Center in Sunrise, FL.

6/16-18/05: Barbra Streisand and Barry Gibb

Miami Symphonic Services was honored to provide strings for the upcoming release of Barbra Streisand with legendary Barry Gibb of the Bee Gees. The 11 songs were recorded with engineer/producer John Merchant, arranger/conductor Peter Graves, and overseen by Barry Gibb. This album is slated for a September 2005 release - the 25th anniversary of Streisand's album Guilty, her first collaboration with Gibb.

2/14/05: Marco Antonio Solis in Concert, American Airlines Arena, Miami

from The Miami Herald 2/15/05:
"The bearded SolĂ­s, in a gleaming white suit, is an enormously appealing showman. Alternating gorgeous ballads with bouncy uptempo numbers, he was backed by an excellent orchestra of approximately 30 musicians, including a large string section, two expert, fiery guitarists, a bouncy horn section, and four gyrating dancers in metallic fringed bikinis for the livelier songs."
 

1/17/05: Busta Rhymes

The Miami Symphonic Strings record 1 song by artist Busta Rhymes at the Hit Factory/Criteria. With string arrangements by Jose Antonio Molina and engineered by Carlos Alvarez, this was a groundbreaking session introducing strings to Hip-Hop.
 

11/11/04: iTunes

In addition to the Amazon Affiliate Program, we have been accepted into Apple Computer's iTunes Affiliate Program. Our discography now features links to the iTunes Music Store and our Miami Strings iMix, a 13 song compilation/demo of some of our most popular credits.
 

11/1/04: Rudy Perez

The MSS strings record 11 songs by acclaimed songwriter and producer Rudy Perez at the Hit Factory/Criteria, with string arrangements by Rafael Ferro and Gary Lindsay.
 

10/12/04: Cristian Castro

The strings of Miami Symphonic Services return to The Hit Factory/Criteria to record 5 songs for Mexican artist Cristian Castro with arranger/conductor Jose Antonio Molina and producer Milton Salcedo. After the albums Lo Mejor De Mi (1997), Mi Vida Sin Tu Amor (1999), Azul (2001), and Amar Es (2003), this is Castro's 5th release with our participation.
 

10/18/04: Web Site is up!

The Miami Symphonic Services web site is launched! Thanks to Miami Symphonic Services cellist Christopher Glansdorp for site design, development, maintenance and graphics.
 

9/23/04: Alejandro Sanz

Our musicians returned to The Hit Factory/Criteria to record two songs for Alejandro Sanz' upcoming album. Our previous efforts with this acclaimed artist, El Alma Al Aire (2000) and MTV Unplugged (2001), were honored with multiple Latin Grammy Awards.
